Perched in the highlands between the Mississippi and Illinois Rivers, Musgrave Angus is a family-owned and operated cattle and grain operation, breeding and selecting cattle that work in a climate of summertime humidity and fescue pasture. The Angus operation started almost six decades ago with Melvin Musgrave and his first heifer, purchased as a 4-H project from a neighbor. That cow family, the Lady Barbara cow family, is still present on the farm presently.
Today, Musgrave Angus has around 300 cow/calf pairs and grain farm approximately 3,000 acres of corn and soybeans. Our focus is to produce sound, functional cattle that excel in all environments, cattle with eye appeal and breed character. These value added traits can be found in Musgrave genetics represented around the globe. One thing that hasn’t changed in 50+ years of constructively breeding Angus cattle is our commitment to quality and dedication to customer satisfaction. Our business was built on the success of those who have used our genetics. Today our bloodlines can be found working in herds around the world but, our commitment to producing bulls that work for the commercial cattlemen hasn’t changed.
